Father's Day and a Slumber party!
An extra busy day in the Unit!
When my nurses removed my bandages that morning, it revealed at least a week's worth of healing had miraculously taken place overnight. It stunned them so much that they called my Dr. in to evaluate me -after they did their fair share of scrubbing on my tender skin, of course.
To find out what happens next, you'll need to watch this video! Being Father's Day, we surprised my dad by live streaming right from my hospital bed to the big screen at church. He had just so happened to be on the praise team that morning SO he was front and center for the surprise.
Daily update of burn progress

For Maija's last night in Canada, and my final night in the Unit, our awesome nurses let us have a sleepover!
We were expecting them to bring in an extra chair or a cot for her to sleep on but they rolled in with a surprise that we all got a kick out of. Not only did they wheel in a HOSPITAL BED for her to sleep on but they brought a nightgown, a cup of jell-o, and her very own ice water cup. They wanted her to have the full hospital experience.
We took a trip down memory lane and grabbed the classic Mary-Kate and Ashley movies from the unit movie selection. So many laughs that night. Medicine to my heart.
*All the nurses in the burn unit pool together their own money to build a HUGE movie selection for patients, on top of other things they donate. Such special people.

Before my mom left the unit that night, she was able to take a picture of Jay.
Somedays I have a difficult time wrapping my head around the fact that this all really happened. Seeing photos of Jay unconscious and wrapped from head to toe grips a part of my heart that only divine help can release. Thank you Jesus, for being so close to me then. So that when my natural eyes saw this, my spiritual eyes remained on what was to come...
Nothing Missing, Nothing Broken.
